The air is foggy, no one home.
I breathe deeply, I'm alone.
The air is foggy, no one home.
I breathe deeply, I'm alone.
(extra verse - only live)
A sea of faces all around.
The force of silence knocks me down.
Am I even human?
Can you see me?
Can't you see me?
A haze of darkness blinds my eyes.
The stars cease to light the skies.
A haze of darkness blinds my eyes.
The stars cease to light the skies.
Dry crisp air as the night grow near.
Can't relate. Can't relate.
Back out.. no one cares anymore.
Just go with it.
Go with it.
My chest heaves and I collapse,
Face against the street. Red pavement.
My chest heaves and I collapse,
Face against the street. Red pavement.
My chest heaves and I collapse,
Face against the street. Red pavement.
My chest heaves and I collapse,
Face against the street. Red pavement.
Song Info: Our first attempt at a 'serious' song. The song was originally going to be a bunch of unrelated phrases because it seemed that a lot of bands were doing that at the time. But the song eventually acquired a meaning and it became a pretty good song. It's about a guy who feels completely alienated by everyone around him because of the lack of communication between them. It eventually kills him. It's not a happy song. After they wrote the song Sam and Nick recorded a very rough demo of the song. The demo was so bad that the song wasn't touched for the better part of a year on account of the garbled lyrics and messy playing. Finally the band dug it up, Sam deciphered most of the lyrics and filled in the blanks in the questionable places, and recorded it. It's very hard to play and sing at the same time...
